Atlanta rapper Ludacris has opened his long-awaited Chicken+Beer restaurant on at Hartsfield-Jackson.
The plans for the restaurant on Concourse D have been in the works for years, and were part of a massive round of airport concessions contracts awarded back in 2012.
“It took me three years but it’s finally coming to fruition,” Ludacris said in a video posted on Instagram.
The restaurant opened near gate D5, with a grand opening celebration expected in coming weeks, according to Hartsfield-Jackson.
The restaurant is a partnership involving Ludacris and Jackmont Hospitality, one of the concessionaires behind the upscale restaurant One Flew South on Concourse E at Hartsfield-Jackson.
Consultants for the restaurant include chef Todd Richards and sommelier Jerry Slater, who were on the opening team for One Flew South.
Chicken+Beer will serve “Southern-style comfort food” and local beers, according to Jackmont.
