Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines said a flight from Atlanta landed safely at Brussels as explosions were reported in the departures area this morning

The plane parked remotely and all passengers from Atlanta-Brussels Flight DL80 have deplaned, according to Delta.

Delta diverted its New York-Brussels Flight DL42 to Amsterdam. The Brussels airport is now closed to flights departing and arriving.

The Brussels airport has been evacuated and Delta said it is “in the process of confirming the safety of all customers.” The airline added: “Local leaders have confirmed the safety of all crew members and ground employees.”

DL80’s flight schedule has a 6:35 p.m. departure time and an 8:15 a.m. arrival.

Meanwhile, Delta said it will be working with customers with flights booked to, from or through Brussels to change their travel plans. Delta also issued a waiver to waive certain change fees for customers with flights booked to Brussels through Wednesday to reschedule.
